Hunger on the Rise
Hunger on the Rise
Hunger in our nation's capital is on the rise, and the recent changes to our economy are making the situation even worse.
The Capital Area Food Bank is currently helping 383,000 people who are living in the Washington metropolitan area, and suffering from hunger.
That represents a 39% increase in the number of people seeking our help since 2001.

In the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area there are over 633,000 residents at risk of, or experiencing hunger. The Capital Area Food Bank is currently able to serve nearly half of these people - 383,000 of them. But, we must do more, and with your help, we can.
You can help right now by making a donation, telling a friend, or getting your organization involved.
The people affected by hunger are our neighbors, and you probably don't even know that they need help. They live and work among us. And for these and other reasons they need your help.
Help us to help them. Get involved today.
